NTEU Chapter 60 has always been on the forefront of being involved in the Legislative Process relating to federal employees. The Legislative Coordinator for Chapter 60 is Andrew Lovett.

Grassroots participation by federal employs in the process is essential to insure that federal employee issues are heard by the elected officials who determine issues vitally important to us. This year more than ever.
While federal employees are prohibited from getting involved and partaking in certain activities and actions, they things they are allowed to be involved in are numerous. A listing of the allowable and prohibited actions and activites are listed below.

Sequester Issues

 OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT DURING A FURLOUGH/SHUTDOWN

I have received a large number of requests about the procedures for applying for outside employment (i.e. getting another job) during the shutdown/furlough.

I know may of you are experiencing a lot of stress due to the delay in receiving our retroactive pay. In an effort to provide information about that, I have included the section of the contract below in red text as to what happens in times like this. Normally, you have to submit the request for outside employment to your manager for approval BEFORE you start the job. However, the contract section below has a special provision. Please read it.
